ThreadLine | Group Exhibition

  • Cecille R. Hunt Gallery - Webster University 8342 Big Bend Boulevard Webster Groves, MO, 63119 United States (map)

Please mark your calendar for our upcoming exhibition, ThreadLine. The exhibition opening will take place Friday, February 6, 6-8 pm with opening remarks at 6:45. We're looking forward to seeing you again!

ThreadLine presents a compelling perspective on contemporary textile art as a significant and engaging form of fine art. The medium has dramatically expanded beyond traditional methods and materials by merging unconventional components into striking contemporary textural forms. By challenging historical hierarchies and embracing material experimentation, exhibition artists reframe textiles as an expansive and deeply relevant fine art practice. This exhibition invites the reconsideration of the boundaries of art and craft, offering a diverse exploration of texture, form, and meaning in contemporary textile-based work. ThreadLine includes works by Kansas City-based artists Becky Stevens and Char Schwall; Los Angeles-based Patrick Carroll; Cupertino, CA-based Consuelo Jimenez Underwood; Chicago-based Savneet Talwar and Bryana Bibbs; and St. Louis artists Ethan Meyer, Quyunn Douglas Dale, and Marina Peng.

As always, the events at the Hunt Gallery are free and open to the public thanks to the generous support of the Missouri Arts Councilthe Regional Arts Commission of St. LouisDADAH and The Leigh Gerdine College of Fine Arts.

Even if you can't make it to the opening, the gallery is open: Tuesday - Saturday 10 am - 5pm.
